My Love of Remodeling

Hello I'm Risa Lee. When my husband and I bought our first home, it was with the intention of doing some major remodeling. We liked the basic floor plan, and it was cheap, but other than that, nothing was right about the house. It took us a while to get started because neither of us had the time or the knowledge. Finally, there was a summer when he had a three-week vacation. Instead of going on a trip, we used our time and money to finally get started on our remodel. To our surprise, we both fell in love with amateur construction! We have since bought and remodeled a few other homes because we love it so much. We're in no way professionals, but please feel free to join in our love and experience in basic construction. Maybe you will learn something!

3 Signs That You Have A Bad Water Well

If you have a water well on the property it is important to make sure that you are aware of the signs that the well is going bad. This way, you might just be able to call someone to come out to make the repairs before the well completely stops functioning. To help you get an idea of what it is that you should be looking for, you might want to check out the following signs.

Rusty Color

Depending on the level of iron in the water, you might not be able to see the rusty color by simply looking at the water running out of the faucet. However, after filling up a tub or sink of water, you might notice a rusty ring left behind once it is drained. Even if you are only noticing a small amount of rust color, it is a clear indication that there is iron in the water. Since the iron is getting into the water because of a faulty well, you need to have the well repaired as quickly as possible.

Bad Odor

Any type of odor coming from your water is bad enough, but if you have an odor that reminds you of rotten eggs, you might have a real problem. The rotten egg smell is an indicator of the existence of hydrogen sulfide and might only be noticed when you are running the hot or the cold water. If you end up smelling a musty odor, it could be that there is a lot of algae growing in the water well.

Hard Water

If your well is producing hard water, you will want to start looking at options for repairs. This type of water makes it difficult to feel clean after showering and leaves spots behind on clean dishes. The common reason for hard water include excessive magnesium and calcium. Hard water can also be much more trouble for the hot water tank as it has to work much harder to heat the heater.

As you can see, there are some clear signs that there is something wrong with the water well. Therefore, if you have started to noticed any of these problems, you are going to want to call a well water specialist like Coonse Well Drilling & Pump Co Inc to your property. All you have to do now is to make sure that you are finding the best in the business so that you can have the water problem resolved quickly.
