My Love of Remodeling

Hello I'm Risa Lee. When my husband and I bought our first home, it was with the intention of doing some major remodeling. We liked the basic floor plan, and it was cheap, but other than that, nothing was right about the house. It took us a while to get started because neither of us had the time or the knowledge. Finally, there was a summer when he had a three-week vacation. Instead of going on a trip, we used our time and money to finally get started on our remodel. To our surprise, we both fell in love with amateur construction! We have since bought and remodeled a few other homes because we love it so much. We're in no way professionals, but please feel free to join in our love and experience in basic construction. Maybe you will learn something!

Poor Water Pressure A Pain? What To Know

If your water pressure is poor and it's starting to interfere with how easily you can take a shower or do the dishes, it's time to get the problem looked at by a plumbing professional. There are a lot of issues that can determine what causes poor water pressure, and it could be a variety of issues all joining together.

Depending on how old your house is or how old the plumbing is, there are some key things the plumber will check. Here are a few things to ask about while the plumbers are at your house.

Pressure Tank

The pressure tank is what gives the water the pressure to flow through the pipes, and if you don't have a lot of water pressure the tank may need replaced or repaired. Fixing this alone could make a great deal of difference with the water pressure in the house, and can help you get great water pressure at multiple faucets at the same time.

Pipe Cleaning

There is a lot of sediment that can build on the pipes throughout the house over time, limiting how much water can flow through the pipes at the same time. Small clogs or areas with bad buildup could be causing the water delays or the poor water pressure. Cleaning out the pipes in the house, and even the hot water heater can improve the water pressure.

New Fixtures

The faucets around the home can get clogged and start to rust over time, preventing the water from coming out of the faucet or shower head without a lot of pressure. Purchase the fixtures that are designed to improve the water pressure to see if this enough to get you the water pressure that you desire. Having a plumber install these new fixtures is best.

While the plumbing company is cleaning the pipes you should have them inspect the pipes for any problems or galvanization. They can easily look through the pipes with a camera system to find errors or flaws. If you have to take extra-long showers because the water pressure is so slow, or you have to rewash things several times because you don't have enough water pressure to clear plates, you're wasting a ton of water. Get to the bottom of your problem so you can stop struggling with the water pressure problems in your house, and so you can get the relaxing shower you deserve.
