My Love of Remodeling

Hello I'm Risa Lee. When my husband and I bought our first home, it was with the intention of doing some major remodeling. We liked the basic floor plan, and it was cheap, but other than that, nothing was right about the house. It took us a while to get started because neither of us had the time or the knowledge. Finally, there was a summer when he had a three-week vacation. Instead of going on a trip, we used our time and money to finally get started on our remodel. To our surprise, we both fell in love with amateur construction! We have since bought and remodeled a few other homes because we love it so much. We're in no way professionals, but please feel free to join in our love and experience in basic construction. Maybe you will learn something!

3 Reasons To Invest In A Bay Window For Your Living Room

Do you want more windows in your living room and have no idea what kind to invest in? Rather than getting more than one window installed, you might find that investing in a bay window is the most beneficial thing to do. In this article, you will learn about a few of the benefits that come along with getting a bay window installed in your living room.

1. The Illusion of a Bigger Living Room

One of the best things about getting a bay window installed in your living room is that it will make it appear as though the room is bigger. Bay windows are designed to protrude out towards the exterior of a house. The protruding feature of a bay window will also add more appeal to the outside of your house. The illusion of more space in the interior and beauty created on the exterior might increase the value of your home.

2. Multiple Windows in One

If you were to opt for getting more than one window installed in your living room, it could end up being pricey. You might save money by opting for a bay window, as it won't require as much labor as installing numerous individual windows. You should expect to pay a minimum of $800 or more for a standard bay window if you don't need professional installation, so the price depends on your needs. However, you will still have the enjoyment of more than one window to open with a bay window, as it is basically several windows in one. Another one of the benefits of a bay window is that it is large and can let a lot of natural light in your living room.

3. Extra Seating for Guests

The area of a bay window that protrudes towards the exterior of your house will create a raised platform that can be used in various ways. You can turn the extra area of the bay window into seating for guests if you run out of space for them to sit on the living room furniture. When the seating area is not being used as guest seating, it can be used as a comfortable area for you to relax and read books. All you have to do is place a cushion and a few pillows on the raised platform to create the seating area. Invest in a bay window for your living room as soon as you are able to.
