My Love of Remodeling

Hello I'm Risa Lee. When my husband and I bought our first home, it was with the intention of doing some major remodeling. We liked the basic floor plan, and it was cheap, but other than that, nothing was right about the house. It took us a while to get started because neither of us had the time or the knowledge. Finally, there was a summer when he had a three-week vacation. Instead of going on a trip, we used our time and money to finally get started on our remodel. To our surprise, we both fell in love with amateur construction! We have since bought and remodeled a few other homes because we love it so much. We're in no way professionals, but please feel free to join in our love and experience in basic construction. Maybe you will learn something!

3 Great Renovation Ideas For Residential Showers

The shower is one of the most important aspects of your bathroom, both in terms of function and aesthetics. If this area has seen better days and is lacking in character, consider these shower remodels. They'll vastly improve this area and give it new life.

Rain Shower Heads

An integral part of the shower is the shower head because after all, it's what directs water and determines what type of experience you'll have. There are many great replacement options for your shower head, but one of the most popular is a rain shower head.

As its name implies, this shower head provides the soothing sensation that rain does. Not only does this give you a spa-like experience that you can have over and over, but it also covers your entire body. Most rain shower heads today feature adjustable settings, allowing you to customize the coverage and water pressure. Some of these heads are also equipped with LED lights that change colors, based on the visual theme you're trying to achieve in the bathroom.

Glass Shelves

It's sometimes hard to keep bathroom essentials in the shower area because of the limited space. This no longer has to be an issue if you set up glass shelves in the shower. They provide you with more space and enhance the visual aesthetics of the entire area.

Glass shelving is a great alternative to wood shelving as it's extremely easy to keep clean. All that's required is a wipe down from a dry towel periodically. Additionally, light can pass through glass shelves -- unlike wood shelves -- to alleviate shadows in the corners.

Frameless Glass Sliding Doors

Sticking along the lines of glass, you can dramatically improve the function and visuals of the shower by adding a frameless glass sliding door. The frameless design makes the shower appear much larger, letting you transform the shower into a fluid space in an affordable way.

Although these sliding doors look elegant and fragile, they are actually pretty tough. That's because you can choose thick glass sections, which will resist shattering and cracking over time. These glass doors, when installed correctly, also create a tight seal that prevents water from spilling out onto the floors.

Since the bathroom is used daily, it deserves to have an elegant, well-functioning shower area. You can achieve this for your bathroom by incorporating the aforementioned elements. They are affordable, easy to install, and dynamic. Contact a company like Port Orchard Glass for more information and assistance.
